This is an excellent product if you have been suffering from the effects of steroids like me.. definitely helps to soothe and heal the skin 🩷
I assume the £6 "taxes" NOT mentioned at the initial order stage are import duty or tariff. We need to be told and shown a detailed invoice for same, ie what "taxes" specifically. Trading Standards may have a comment on this, the way it is slipped in 3/4 through the ordering process. Even the >£30 basic price is excessive. Most allopathic eczema products are around £10 for up to 500ml. Even Protopic is "only" £ about 40 for 100ml. I guess your product is of Middle Eastern origin. The source does not need to be covert.
As for its performance, your ointment so far does have a smoothing effect on skin but is no more effective than far cheaper, indeed free if NHS supplied, creams and ointments. None of these products including yours are capable of removing eczemas, all attempt to address the symptoms only.
I think your product has it's place in the weaponry to mitigate the symptoms of eczemas but on balance is neither more nor less effective than the myriad allopathic products, a bit different though. I think if you charged £10 instead of £40 for 2oz I would buy it again. As it is I shall attempt to make my own, the 3 basic materials are cheap but I know producing pure beef tallow from suet is messy and time consuming and getting a smooth ointment from the blend is a bit problematic. A.E.
Hi, there are no hidden charges slipped in at all. The £6 'taxes' you mention is VAT, and is already priced in the product cost for the consumer (you) from the beginning, not slipped in later. Delivery price is the only cost added at checkout.
The source of our product is also not hidden. We're in the UK and handmake all our balms here in the UK.
Sorry you feel our product does not meet your standards and that it's similar to cheaper (synthetic) options. If cost is the only factor you take in when making purchases we're not for you.
We handmake our product using simple, select natural ingredients and methods to not just tackle symptoms but also help heal the skin barrier (root cause for most skin issues and can take longer). Benefits of our ingredients for the skin are endless and could go on forever.
But it doesn't stop there, we also make sure our product is good for your skin and body LONG TERM. Unlike the allopathic products you mention, there are no harsh chemicals or endocrine disruptors that harm the body and skin long term.
Still, I'm glad to hear you plan on making your own, wish you the best of luck. I started out making these at home too!
I am halfway through my first pot am following instructions to just wash and then put the balm on still havnt seen much improvement in raised redness bumps but my skin is less dry getting fewer dry patches so will continue to see if my results get better
I've been using this for around a month after trying many others and this so far is the best. My rosecea and redness around my nose hasn't gone but it looks and feels so much better.
I was so stressed with the bodily lumps on my forehead, nothing from the doctors made a dent, but the Esoteric Balm was amazing, I love it, I love the way my skin feel after using it, and the hard sore boils are gone. Thank you
Takes a little getting used to at first – you need to warm it between your fingers so you can effectively spread it on the skin – but outside an exfoliant once a week, I don't use any other products on my face now. Smell is natural and not unpleasant, moisture lasts all day. Give it a go!
Very effective moisturiser, but alas no improvement at all to my lifelong rosacea symptoms, which is a disappointment. I’ll finish the pot though.
My face is always red and burning and this seems to work well at keeping it moisturised with minimal redness
Noticeable improvement after 7 days. Skin not as inflamed and hoping improvement continues🤞
On first use I’m not that sold on it. I don’t like the smell and I do find it greasy. I will persist with it for a while longer but as yet I haven’t made my mind up on the product. It’s very expensive in my opinion.
Hey Nicola, sounds like you're using a bit too much. Remember with this a little does go a long way. I recommend everyone to first rub a pea sized amount between their palms to warm it a little to make it more spreadable. Then use your palm to apply it. Good luck!
I like it, use sparingly and it works wonders, skin is soft and smooth! 🤘🏻
I suffer from rosacea and my chin was particularly bad sore itchy spotty I’d been using another product which had started aggravating it so I started tallow balm it’s amazing after only 2 days it had all calmed down the spots and redness on my cheeks was reducing now as well after a week it’s looking great !!! I’m on 2nd week now my skin is so soft !! It really is brilliant!! I’m so glad I tried it it really is the best thing I’ve ever tried on it!!
The best compliment I can give is I don’t have dry skin anymore
I have been using for just over 2 weeks , I have Rosacea with papules, which were present before I stated using Esoteric Made. Overall I have seen an improvement papules appear to be clearing up , but I still get some which appear overnight they are much smaller and heal up much quicker. Happy to continue using Esoteric Made to see what the results are like after 4 - 6 weeks usage
I have developed extremely dry skin over the past 2 or 3 years and have been diagnosed with seborrhoeic dermatitis. Whilst obviously not able to fully prevent flare ups, the tallow balm is very soothing during this time and smells lovely. I love to apply it to my face shortly before I go to bed. My face doesn't feel so tight and itchy as it used to. If I didn't have my skin condition, I think it would feel perfect.
i've never been able to find a moisturiser that relieves my sensitive skin with thats very reactive to everything, but i can stop looking niw this is the best product my skin is so much calmer from the minute you apply it it soothes and my skin feels so hydrated it's amazing
Will definitely be ordering it again !!!
This product has proved amazing in calming my rosacea. Would recommend to anyone.
Although may be a very good product but definitely not for me, I have oily skin and this made it feel like I had an oil spill on my face so hence giving 3 stars as they said in their advertising it was good for acne which I have in the form of blackheads and whiteheads and I am really not happy I just want something that will work, I have spent sooo much money and time trying different products to no avail, I also think the appearance of the glass tub is very basic , I only wud recommend this for people who have very dry skin
Hey Norah, It certainly isn’t supposed to feel anywhere close to an oil spill. If it does that means you’re applying too much.
The balm can be a little rigid so it may feel like you need more than required, that’s not the case, a little goes a long way!
I’d recommend taking a pea sized amount of the balm and rubbing it between your palms to warm it up first so it becomes more spreadable. Now just spread it across your face via your palm and fingers.
Never used a tallow product before so am finding it interesting to use. Works very, very well on itchy troubled skin instantly calming and soothing. I find it heavy to use and spread on my face it’s quite a solid formula though getting softer the more I use it. I tend to use too much in order to cover my face then as it softens with the warmth of my skin I have to take some off. It absorbs well and smells ok. Think it’s more a ‘user’ problem than a balm issue!
Hey Celia, what I'd recommend is rubbing the balm between your palms first to heat it up a little. This makes it more spreadable and you can rub your palms on your face to apply it.
Have blotches of inflamed skin on my face, and this has worked wonders in controlling it
